Some “EXPERTS” in the Lyme field. does not promote or advocate for you to see these doctors, They are just well known names that have contributed to greater understanding of Lyme treatment. Please try to remeber that above and beyond all “expert” opinions, you are your most wise healer. 💚

Dr. Alan MacDonald is an amazing human being. His contributions to Borellia research is truly amazing.  He has many informative videos, published papers and photographs on his website.

Bob  Miller is an naturopath in PA and is transforming  Lyme treatment by individulizing care. He explores clients DNA expressions and helps them overcome nutritional deficiencies, trying to make the body as inhospitable to lyme as possible so healing is possible. He has created a software to interpret DNA and is teaching health care providers all over the world his methods. Below is part 1 of a part 3 series where Bob explains his work:

Dr. Richard Horowitz has been a Lyme literate doctor for over 30 years. He has written several books and has a private practice in Hyde Park, NY. Here is a talk of his from a 2017 Lyme Conference.

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt has a medical practice in Seatle, WA. His website has many helpful videos

Dr.  Joseph Jemsek  was the physician to diagnose the first AIDS case in NC. He played an important role in understanding and treating HIV and AIDS. Dr. Jemske started working with Lyme patients and had a practice treating chronic Lyme in Hunterville, NC. In 2006, he was sued by Blue Cross NC for treating Lyme outside of CDC guidelines and billing insurance for it. Dr Jemske had to file for bankruptcy and lost everything. Do you know what he did? He dusted himself off and started a new practice in Washington DC treating Lyme patients. This man is not giving up! The following is a moving speech of his:

Dr. Joesph Burrascano has closed his 20+ year practice in NY but  he is now working with ILADS on a comprehensive database system to improve treatment and outcomes for people with persistent Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

Dr. Charles Ray Jones is a pediatric Lyme specialist who has helped over 15,000 children with Lyme Disease. He is deeply appreciated for his work with children in the Lyme community.

Dr. Steven Phillips has a practice in Wilton, CT. He and Dana Parish have a Lymebook facebook page with very informative videos.

Dr. Bill Rawls is no longer practicing but has a website with lots of information about overcoming Lyme and co-infections with herbs and natural supplements

Stephen Harrod Buhner  is a wise and gifted herbalist who has written numerous books on tick borne illness.  His website is an incredible resource.

Dr. Bernard Raxlen has a practice in New York City where he specializes in the treatment of neuropsychiatric symptoms of Lyme Disease

Dr. Howard Robbins runs an ozone treatment clinic in New York City where he treats many Lyme Disease patients. His efforts helped stop the spread of the recent Ebola virus outbreak in Africa.

Dr. Jerry Tennant is a brilliant doctor in Irving, TX. Dr. Tennant invented the Biomodulator, a pain management device that also helps people heal from chronic illness by increasing their voltage so they can make new cells.

Dr, Elena Frid  is a Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist specializing in Infections Induced Autoimmune Disorders. Her practice in New York City sees patients with complex cases of Lyme disease and co-infections resulting in various neurological complaints. She also created insect repellant kid’s wear.

Dr. Neil Spector  was practicing oncologist in NC who got very ill with Lyme disease. He wrote a book about his experience, “Gone in a Heartbeat”.  Sadly,  Neil died in 2020. His contribution to the Lyme community was immense and he will be surely missed. In the video posted below he speaks about emerging Lyme research and the similarities between Lyme & Cancer.

Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker is well known for his work with mold toxin illness but he has recently been doing some amazing research with Lyme.

The West Clinic is located in Pocatello, ID.

I know I’m accidently leaving some people out. Please contact me to add an other amazing human being to this list.

Melissa Kaplan’s resources for Activism, Advocacy, and Patient Rights

Lyme and filing for Disability

SSA List of Disability Impairments- Due to the corrupt nature of the IDSA & the CDC, Chronic Lyme Disease is not considering a “real” disease. Because of this Lyme Disease treatment is often not covered by insurance and it is not an approved illness for disability. However, CFS (Chronic fatigue syndrome), IDS (Immune dysfunction syndrome), Depression, Musculoskeletal System problems, Inflammatory bowel disease, Cardiovascular Impairment, Endocrine Disorders, Cognitive Disorders, etc are approved. Lyme Disease may be the underlying cause of your heart problems, stomach pain, brain fog, hypothroidism, adrenal failure, joint pain, insomnia, and anxiety but when appyling for disability you have to communicate the “approved" impairments.

Melissa Kaplan’s advice on Filing for Disability
